I simply couldn’t be happier that we booked our wedding at Greens. The view is peerless and the food is outstanding. And don’t worry–we had a slew of Southern guests and none of them missed the meat. The staff really go out of their way to accommodate any requests. Don’t hesitate to book them TODAY!

Greens was the perfect location for my son’s rehearsal dinner. From the very first moment of planning, through the final details of the evening, there is nothing more we could have asked for. The views, delicious food and attentiveness of the staff led an evening we will never forget.

Greens turned out to be the perfect venue for hosting a party for about 50 guests. The size of the room, with its high ceilings and window overlooking the bay and Golden Gate Bridge, felt intimate yet open. The food—an assortment of eight hearty appetizers and desserts—was incredible and generously proportioned, so everyone ate to their fill and complimented the food. The Greens servers were gracious, efficient and discreet. Mostly, it was a pleasure to plan the evening with Greens’ events coordinator, Danielle Garland, who made the event worry-free and fulfilled all our special requests.

The Pacific Institute held its 25 Anniversary celebration dinner at Greens. I had the pleasure of working closely with the folks at Greens. These events can be nerve rattling, but from the first phone call inquiring about the space, to the final farewells and cleanup of the room, Greens staff were splendid.

The room at the back of the restaurant with a great view of the GG Bridge was perfect in size for our group of 50 people. We were able to video the proceedings which included a panel discussion with P.I.’s founder, Peter Gleick,  Author Michael Pollan, and the Bay Area’s own Michael Krasney of KQED radio.

The whole evening was a smash success! Of course, the food was great, but more importantly, Greens helped keep the focus on the event, and its purpose of celebration and cultivation of support for the Institute. They labored efficiently and quietly in the background, and delivered  a splendid evening. I would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking to gather a group of people for any event.

Six months later, our guests are still talking about how beautiful the setting and delicious the food was at our reception. For what is generally considered a stressful experience, planning our wedding party at Greens was easy and a genuine pleasure. Thank you.

We had our wedding reception at Green’s following the ceremony outdoors at Fort Mason, and couldn’t be happier with the whole experience.

The setting was fantastic. We were lucky to have clear skies, so the restaurant glowed as the sun set behind the Golden Gate during our event.

The staff is excellent. We always get excellent service at Greens, so no surprises there.

The food was delicious. We’re vegan so the vegetarian menu is perfect for us, but many guests said they really enjoyed the food and were impressed to have the event at a destination restaurant. For a private event you have to select items from the full menu so choosing well is up to you, but we liked our options.

Choosing well on wine is also up to you, but again the Greens list provided lots of good options. With a little advice from a friend, we chose some affordable wines that our guests were very happy with. Some got very happy, so it seemed our choices worked out well.

One thing to know about drinks: Greens doesn’t have a full bar. They offered a couple specialty cocktails, but *no* spirits that aren’t in those two cocktails. That won’t do for my family and friends, but were able to strike a compromise with Greens to offer a few other spirits and easy mixed drinks with a some extra $$.

We used the private dining room — the second room — for dancing after the meal. That worked very well for us.

The Private Events Manager, Danielle Garland, was very easy to work with and responsive throughout the process. She’s on top of every detail, so once you factor in how many details she has to stay on top of, you can appreciate why she works at high speed! She also deserves credit for striking the right balance between being flexible and knowing when details need to be firm and clear.

Big thumbs up for Greens as a reception venue!
