Greens is available for a buyout any day or evening. We can accommodate up to 135 people for a sit down meal and 200 people for a standing reception. Our private dining room can seat up to 50 people for a meal or can host a standing reception of up to 70 people. Led by nationally acclaimed chef and author Annie Somerville, Greens has become one of the most celebrated restaurants in the world. Extensively reviewed by food, wine and design publications, Greens has been a perennial top 100 Bay Area restaurant according to the San Francisco Chronicle, recognized as one of America’s top restaurants by Zagat and a Michelin Guide recommendation. Annie is a pioneer and standard-bearer for the practice of shopping directly with local organic farmers (including our own Green Gulch Farm in Marin County), selecting the freshest and most delicious seasonal products to bring to the table.
Constructed by master craftsman Paul Discoe (www.joinerystructures.com) and San Francisco Zen Center carpenters, Greens is a work of art. The restaurant incorporates twelve varieties of wood, from the massive black walnut entry doors, the hickory stairs, the curved bar featuring Port-Orford cedar, the dining tables of maple, and walnut and cherry wood. All construction was performed using Japanese joinery technique, without nails. New sustainable dining room chairs created by Scott Constable of (www.thewowhaus.com) were recently produced in Sonoma County. Paintings are provided by renowned Bay Area artist Willard Dixon (www.willarddixon.com) . Upon entry you will encounter a magnificent redwood sculpture by Inverness artist J B Blunk (www.jbblunk.com). The spectacular panorama of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands and the marina is very much a part of Greens, viewed through floor to ceiling windows. From the moment you and your family and friends enter Greens they will know that they are in a truly inspired artistic creation.
Being founded and owned by the San Francisco Zen Center, a primary purpose of Greens is to be of service. Our Sales Director Laura Fraenza (415.771.7955 x113) will make every effort to work with you personally, creating and coordinating your event to your exact specifications. Together we will create a unique selection of appetizers, entrees, wine pairings, and desserts.
